Privacy Policy

General Privacy Policy

  • If you visit the Saferparks website to browse (i.e., read or download information), we do not collect or store any information about you.
  • Visitors who access accident reports from the Database section may be required to view a brief disclaimer and click a button indicating that they have read the cautionary note. When the "ok" button is clicked, the Saferparks website will attempt to store a cookie on the visitor's home computer. This is a convenience feature that saves members from having to go through the disclaimer screen each time they access the Saferparks Database.
    • A "cookie" is a small text file that a website can place on your computer's hard drive in order to collect information about your activities on the site and transmit the information back to the website's computer.
    • Users may delete the Saferparks cookie file from their home computer at any time.
  • If you contact us directly by email, we may reply to you, but we will not add your contact information to any mailing lists.  If you send us an email, you should know that email is not secure against interception.
  • The Saferparks website is hosted by an Internet Service Provider (ISP) which collects information from you when you visit Saferparks (IP address, page hits, etc.).  The statistics available to the Saferparks webmaster do not include personal information on you, only general information about website usage.  For example:
    • Which organizations (companies, institutions, ISPs) access Saferparks most frequently?
    • Which pages are accessed most often?
    • What times of day is the Saferparks website used most heavily?
  • This website links to documents located on websites maintained by various organizations. Once you access an individual document that links you to another website, you are subject to the privacy policy of the website containing that document

Children's Privacy Policy

  • The Saferparks Kids Club is the only section of the Saferparks website that is targeted to children under 13.  None of the activities in that section require children to identify themselves or communicate with Saferparks.  The only information gathered from children who visit the Kids Club pages is the general usage data that Saferparks' Internet Service Provider collects.
